About SayTag

SayTag is a Patent Pending tool for enhancing your offline presence. SayTag codes are similar to QR codes in that they appear on some advertisements and provide customers an easy way to find more information online. However, where QR codes require scanning, SayTag codes can be manually typed in or, if you have a smart phone, said at any time; and some advertisements, such as billboards, posters, and flyers, don't lend themselves to scanning. Many people may not want to scan at that moment but could remember a short code for later use; and because icons can be used in the code along with many special characters such as #%*^&@"_'-+<=>,.:;!?¿¡(){}[]\~/$¢£¥€ it gives you plenty of options to make fun, hieroglyphic codes that direct your audience to wherever you wish them to go.

To give you ideas on how you might use SayTag, here's a quick list of possibilities:
Fundraising
I often see posters at fundraising events, such as a carwash or lemonade stand, directing people to stop by. But what if a passerby doesn't want to stop then? You could have a memorable SayTag on your poster that directs people to a website where people can donate directly to your cause.

Rallies
A short, memorable SayTag on a sign could direct people to more information about your cause. And if the rally is televised, people at home would have a way to instantly connect.

Sharing Documents on the Fly
I once created a Google Calendar for my son's carpool. But because the URL was so long, I had to always e-mail the link. If SayTag had existed then, I would have told them a memorable SayTag, and then they would always be able to find the calendar without first having to find the link.

Billboards
Direct people to a smartphone application that immediately pinpoints the customers location and maps the way to your location.

Property/Business Signs
Direct customers to SPECIFIC information, like the actual listing for that property, instead of a webpage where customers are required to search for that information.

Garage Sales
Why not direct people to a Google Doc showing a listing of your items?

Selling Cars or Other Items
Place a SayTag on your car that directs potential customers to a Craigslists Ad.

User-Friendly URL
I've seen many signs advertising horrendously long URLs. Create a catchy SayTag for your website, making it easier for people to remember and return to your site. For example, my 3v3 Soccer blog's URL is www.3v3soccer.blogspot.com, but my SayTag code is .

School Posters
Remember student campaign posters?
Tag it with SayTag!

Street Banners
URLs can get quite long. Keep it short with SayTag.

Marketing a Band
I had to throw this one in here because I live in Austin, the Live Music Capitol of the World; but a simple sign or t-shirt could direct people to your website.

These are just a few examples. SayTags are free if used. SayTags expire if inactive for over a month, i.e. no one goes to SayTag.com to use the redirecting link. You can keep the SayTag from expiring regardless of activity for only $4.95 per year, and you'll always be able to change the redirecting URL associated with your SayTag.

Please spread the word; better yet, tag your next sign with SayTag!

Thanks,

Alex Gammill
Inventor and Founder of SayTag.com
